Sex...sex...and more sex...

This is the Teaching between Midnight and Dawn Series...

I my daughter brought me a kindle, whoo hoo for me!

Lol, so I thought I’d test it out on some freebies first before I actually ordered anything off of Amazon. (My books don’t count lol). Anyway, I found some great books, in pretty much all three genres that I write in. As I was reading my first book, I paused to think about Paranormal Romance as a whole.

Now, seeing as though I am a Romance writer myself, I wondered if sometimes we as writers and authors go too far?

I was surprised at the amount of sex in paranormal, and wondered if I myself was a party to it. I do feel like adult relationships need the natural progression of a sexual nature in that relationship, but do we as writers go too far. Where do we draw the line, and just because we can, does it always mean that we should.

This was my conundrum.

I love what I write, so I began to test my books to see if I took out all of the intimate scenes, would the book still hold water, so to speak. I am proud to say, that they do. Lol, well all except book 11, because there has to be that sexual element, however I do feel that it isn’t done in a gratuitous style. The sex actually furthers the plot, and the book is sorta based on the intimacy between the main character and the men she loves.

Yes, that was men lol.

So, my call for the day, is what’s your opinion?

Do you think Paranormal as a whole, contains too much sex, violence, or what have you?

Should we as authors tone it down, and if we do, will we actually have a fan base for it if we take out the sex?

Also, when you read Paranormal Romances, is that just a given, and something you expect to read?

Post your comments and let me know what you think.

Have an Awesome Day!!!
